Sweet Baby

Puffins, Sugar Plum, Munchkin, Sugar, Sweetie, K, Sug Bear, Toad (Ryan gave her this one)... are just a few sweet little names we call Kennedy.
She is really a sweet baby. Can't believe how fast she is growing up. She has starting talking, although we think it sounds more like a bird squawking. It sure is cute though. Sometimes we aren't sure if it's a happy or sad squawk. Either way we think it's adorable. Her hair is starting to thin and fall out. Makes me super sad because her bows and barrettes won't stay in. They just fall out. Ryan refuses to let her wear headbands.. lol! :)
Here are just some more sweet pictures of Kennedy this last week. Enjoy!

Grandparents.. YAY!!

Kennedy was very blessed this week! She got to visit with all four of her Grandparents!!! I'm a little sad because we were really bad about getting actual pictures with them!! RATS!
Grammy and Pa came this week and got to meet Kennedy for the first time! She sure enjoyed all their snuggles and kisses. We had a very blessed time with them and Ryan got a new BBQ so we ate fabulous! I even had time to bake some chocolate chip blondies.
My parents came up as well from San Antonio and got to spend time with three of their grandkids (Kennedy, and my two nephews, Anson and Landen.) We also had a blessed time with my parents and got to spend time with my sister Kirsten and her family as well. (Kirsten lives half a mile from me which is FABULOUS!) My mom helped finish out Kennedy's baby room. Looks fabulous! I'll have to take pictures later and post. I was also able to venture out to Market Street and grocery shop.
Kennedy slept through the night again one night but of course she's still a newborn so it's very unpredictable. We just take it day by day and love her to pieces.
Kennedy also had her 1 month appointment on Monday the 19th and weighed 8 lbs. 8 ounces! YAY! She did have to get her Hep B shot and that was sad. She stopped crying as soon as we picked her up though. I was able to run into my work and say HI and good luck to my kiddos (4th graders) on their TAKS test the next week. Ryan stayed in the car with Kennedy.

Goooo Kennedy and Daddy

What a fabulous Friday and Saturday!
Friday night Kennedy slept through the night! Fed her at 7:45 and she didn't get up until 6:15!! YAY! I think she did it for Daddy because he had a race that morning. What an awesome day! Ryan ran the 10k @ Stonebridge and got 1st place OVERALL!!! We were so proud of him! We also had our first adventure out to eat with our best friends. We went to Spoons in downtown McKinney and Kennedy slept the whole time. We even got to stop at Mom & Pop's Popcorn to get a treat after lunch. Just had to share the wonderful news!!
Friday night, playing with Daddy before she slept all night!
Good luck Daddy!

1 month

Wow... I can't believe it's already been 1 month! She's growing up fast!
Daddy got to give Kennedy her first bottle on Saturday. She took it fabulous and gulped down 3 ounces. Daddy sure did enjoy getting to feed her.
I took her to the Pediatric Optometrist on Wednesday and we were very thankful that literally the spot came off her eye with a q-tip. Kind of humorous, although I was a little shocked that it came off so easy when we had been rubbing her eye when it was closed and trying to get it to move and it stayed put. She cried a little but went right back to sleep. Let's just say I think I was crying more and traumatized a little more. Very glad all is okay!
She's been sleeping fabulous, 6-7 hour stretches after her last feeding at night.
It's been awesome because we really do feel rested.
We've also been very blessed by friends bringing us meals. :) THANK YOU!!!
She loves her bathtime
I couldn't resist Ryan! :) Soo cute! This is after bath and before her last feeding at night.
She was already super tired as you can see and Daddy's singing sure soothes her!

Week Three

Daddy went back to work this week which makes Kennedy and me very sad. We sure miss him being around all day! He's such a big help and well we just like his company! Mommy takes me on walks every morning. I love them!! Wednesday night K did a 7 hour stretch! Yay! Fed her at 8:30 and she didn't wake until 3:30. Great job!
Thursday she went to her big cousin Landen's t-ball game. It was tons of fun but boy was it windy. We sure did enjoy watching him! Can't believe he is already 4!! Very talented boy, look below at a video to see him hit!
She had her 2 week check up at the doctor on Good Friday. Daddy took the day off work and went with us. She was 7 lbs. 6 ounces. Wooo hoo. Almost a full lb. more than her birth weight. Her umbilical cord is still there but almost falling off. A few days later we were able to give her first bath when it fell off. She has a small speck on her eye. Doctor wants us to take her to an eye doc. Kind of looks like a piece of white lint but it won't move. We will make an appointment and take her to the Pediatric Optometrist next week.
We then went out to eat lunch at Subway and kept her covered in her stroller. It was our first well kind of outing. We went to Baylor Frisco (where we had her) and she had her PKU test. She did fabulous! Got a little sugar water and it was her first time to have a paci so she was very excited. Not even a peep from her. I thought for sure getting pricked in the foot would make her cry but not Miss Kennedy! I was shocked! She did wonderful!
We took her to Good Friday service at our church, it's small get together with a small sermon and some worship. It was wonderful to remember what Easter really is about and celebrate our Savior dying on the cross for us and raising again! We decided Good Friday service was a better choice with less crowds and germs! :) hehe
